Kranjska Gora and its surroundings offer numerous possibitlies for free-time activities in the nature. Availible activities are so different in nature, that are suitable for adrenaline hunters and on the other hand also families that enjoy spending free time on fresh air.
Hiking
Kranjska Gora offers plenty of hiking possibilities. The surroundings of Kranjska Gora offer short family trips to the nature, which are suitable for families with children, as well as multy-day hikign tours for the most demanding mountaineers – for these tours a professional equipment and a company of mountain guide is recommended.

Lake Jasna

Rafting
If we drive with a car across the Vršič pass (1611 m) and pass through the Trenta valley to Bovec, we can choose from a wide range of adrenaline activities, including rafting. The unique Soča river offers wonderful views of the surrounding peaks, and also impresses with its beautiful turquoise color, which separates it from other rivers in the region. Soča offers rafting sections for all the desired difficulty, from the tranquil routes to the thawing experience of the wild Soča river.

Zipline
Zipline has recently flourished as one of the adrenaline sports suitable for a wider population, as it is safe enough and at the same time offers a great adrenaline experience. In Kranjska Gora, ski flying and zipline activities are combined, as you can zip down one of the largest ski jumping objects in the world. Zipline from the object allows you to experience the feelings of the world’s best ski jumpers.

Winter activities
Skiing
The ski resort in Kranjska Gora is suitable for all types of skiers, from the most demanding to the little ones who yet waiting for the first ski turns. The ski resort is equipped with 16 lifts and offers skiers 20 km of ski slopes of all difficulty. The most demanding skiers can test their capabilities on the FIS Vitranc race course, recreational skiers can enjoy on the rugged terrain of the Kranjskogorski ski resort, while for the little ones can enjoy the first turns on the lower part of the ski resort, which is dedicated to kids. Ski schools are also availibe on site.

Cross-country skiing
Kranjska Gora and its surroundings offer 40km of cros-country tracks. The trails start in the center of Kranjska Gora and winds past Vitranc and the source of the Sava Dolinka, then you can pass past the Planica ski jumps to the Tamar valley or cross the border with Italy and go on a path past Belopeška jezera (Laghi di Fusine). In the other direction, you can run to Gozd Martuljek, where there are also organized trails for cross-country skiing. The trails are also arranged in the vicinity of Mojstrana.
Winter hiking
The mountain world in the vicinity of Kranjska Gora turns into a true fairytale in winter, into a piece of paradise covered with a snow blanket. For those with more mountaineering skills and the experience of hiking in the winter, Kranjska Gora offers a lot of tours, which at the end of the hike is reward the hiker with wonderful views and peaceful nature.

Ice climbing
There are several locations around Kranjska Gora, where you can try ice climbing. Beginners and those who have not yet met with this wonderful sport, can try out the Mlačca gorge in Mojstrana, where you can find experienced guides and instructors, as well as an ice climbing center with a rental department. Adrenaline addicts should (recommended with a guide) try the Lucifer – the famous ice-cold waterfall in Gozd Martuljek.

Sledging
In Kranjska gora you can sledge on maintained pistes, and there is also a youth sledging terrain for kids, which will surely have fun with your escort. You can combine sledging with a trip to nature and go to Planica, where you can walk to the valley Tamar on foot and back to the valley on the sledges.

Ice skating
For lovers of ice skating, Kranjska Gora is an excellent choice as you can enjoy ice skating in the very center of the city and embrace the nature and mountains. You can borrow ice skates in the center of the city and go to the ice rink between Ramada and Kompas. For the panorama lovers, the artificial lake Jasna is certainly the right choice, where a natural ice rink is organized in winter (at suitable temperatures).
